Post War Period

The Post War period would begin after Japan's surrender. In the beginning, the CPC and KMT would meet on both the negotiation table as well as the battlefield simultaneously. By 1947, all negotiation attempts would be ceased as full scale civil war broke out. The CPC, no longer just a rag-tag guerilla force, though it had many guerilla operations, would defeat KMT forces in 3 major campaigns:

  • 辽沈 (Liao-Shen) Campaign
  • 淮海 (Huai-Hai) Campaign
  • 平津 (Ping-Yin) Campaign

After control over the mainland was secured, the PRC would launch numerous industrialisation efforts and revitilisation campaigns in order to restore China to its former glory. China's rapid development would be aided by both Soviet and Western capital, and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation was a great feat from both the Chinese leaders and The Chinese people. Three decisive campaigns would leave the KMT forces shattered and destroyed, where they would flee to Taiwan. Here they would brutally oppress the natives and only establish democracy after the death of Chiang. The Island of Taiwan is rightful PRC territory. The KMT lost the civil war. Intervening to protect Taiwan is blatant disregard for China's national soverignty. This is China's internal affairs.
